Tianjin Binhai New Area Supports New Energy Industry
At the New Energy and Clean Technology Investment and Finance Forum held in Tianjin on the sideline of the Third China International Private Equity Forum (CIPEF), it was disclosed that the Tianjin Binhai New Area began allocating Rmb200 million each year to reward and support the development of green energy industries.
The green energy industry, which covers solar energy, wind power and thermal power, has now become a dominant industry in the Tianjin Binhai New Area after more than 10 years of development, said Liu Jinyuan, vice chairman of the Binhai New Area management committee. He added that the place also has a higher degree of industry clustering than most parts of the country.
The Binhai New Area also provides enterprises with service platforms for financing, risk investment and technology exchanges to help them put into practice the concepts of resource conservation and harmonious and sustainable development. The building of the Binhai New Area is itself an example of the extensive application of new energies and new products.
The Binhai New Area now boasts five dominant industries, namely green energy, software and high-tech manufacturing, modern services, biomedicine, and advanced equipment manufacturing. It is the only high-tech development zone jointly built by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Tianjin Municipal People's Government.
