MYANMAR: 30-Day Visa-Free Entry On Offer to Hong Kong Holidaymakers

Hong Kong passport holders are now entitled to visa-free entry into Myanmar for periods of up to 30 days. Eligible visitors must be travelling solely for tourism purposes and may only enter the country via the international airports serving Yangon, Mandalay or Nay Pyi Taw or via the Yangon International Seaport and certain designated entry points along the country’s border with Thailand and India.

The scheme is initially being trialled until 30 September 2019 and is also on offer to tourists from Macau, South Korea and Japan. It is hoped that this visa waiver will provide a much-needed boost to the country’s tourism sector.
