MYANMAR: All Businesses Required to Re-Register Existing Trademarks

In line with international best practice, the country is set to abolish its existing first-to-use trademark registration system and adopt a first-to-file system. This will require all businesses that have registered a trademark under the country’s previous system to re-register in accordance with the newly-enacted Trademark Law.

A formal date for implementation of this new requirement has yet to be announced.
