China Issues Revised Food Production Licence Catalogue

Following a recent Announcement on Revision and Promulgation of the Food Production Licence Classified Catalogue (Announcement No. 8 [2020]), issued by the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR), licence information must be filed in accordance with the newly revised Catalogue.

The varieties of food and food additives in the revised Catalogue cover 32 major categories. These include cereal products, edible oil/fat and products that derive from these, seasoning, meat products, milk products, beverages and wine. Manufacturers of health food, food for special medical purposes, and formula foods for infants, must clearly indicate on their food production licences either the product registration approval number or record-filing registration number.
