China Looks to Protect Core Technologies from Misuse by Third Party Nations

The National Development and Reform Commission has been tasked with reviewing the viability of establishing a National Technological Security Management List. This, in accordance with the National Security Law and other relevant regulations, would be deployed to safeguard the security of China’s core technologies and those where it is seen as having a global lead, while also acting to ensure other nations couldn’t make use of such technologies in any way contrary to China’s best interests.

Full details of the proposed measures are expected to be announced shortly.
