Guangzhou Unveils Made in China 2025 Pilot City Development Plan

Guangzhou is set to become one of the Made in China 2025 pilot cities according to a recent announcement by its municipal government. In line with this, the development of eight industry sectors will be prioritised – intelligent equipment and robotics, next-generation information technology, biomedicine and health care, smart and new-energy vehicles, new materials, new energy, urban consumer industries and producer services.

The city has also committed to establishing a Made in China 2025 industrial development fund. This will be used to fund research into next-generation information technology, artificial intelligence, biomedicine and a number of other priority sectors.
