Argentina Modifies Import and Export Duties on Various Products

Argentina recently issued a regulation (Decree 541/2019) amending its import and export duties on a range of products. Among other things, the regulation modifies Argentina’s list of exceptions to the Mercosur common external tariff, adopts various tariff-related resolutions issued by the Mercosur Common Market Group, amends the list of capital goods benefiting from a reduced two percent duty, amends the list of information technology and telecommunications products benefiting from duty-free treatment, modifies the lists of used goods of Chapters 84 through 90 that may not be imported for consumption or are not required to obtain a used goods import certificate (CIBU), and modifies the list of products subject to export duties.
