Argentina Provides Duty-Free Treatment to Certain Products for Renewable Energy Projects

The Argentinean government has provided duty-free treatment to a range of products, shown below, for renewable energy projects. To benefit from this special exemption, the importer must be duly registered as a producer or supplier of components for the generation of electricity from renewable sources.

  • Goods classified under NCM 3919.90.00, 3919.90.00, 7007.19.00, 7208.51.00, 7208.52.00, 7208.90.00, 7326.19.00, 7326.90.90, 7409.31.90, 7410.12.00, 8410.11.00, 8410.11.00, 8410.12.00, 8410.12.00, 8412.90.90, 8412.90.90, 8419.89.99, 8482.10.10, 8482.10.90, 8482.10.90, 8482.20.10, 8482.30.00, 8482.50.10, 8483.10.90, 8483.30.21, 8483.40.10, 8483.60.90, 8483.90.00, 8501.52.10, 8501.64.00, 8503.00.90, 8504.34.00, 8504.40.90, 8504.90.40, 8505.19.90, 8517.62.99, 8536.90.90, 8537.10.20, 8537.20.90, 9015.80.90 and 9027.10.00 – duty-free treatment for a period of 60 months from 1 January 2018.
  • Goods classified under NCM 8501.31.20 – duty-free treatment for a period of 12 months from 1 January 2018.

On the other hand, the most-favoured-nation duty on goods classified under NCM 8502.31.00 will be increased from zero to 14 percent for a period of 60 months from 1 July 2018.
