Argentina Rescinds Certificate of Origin Requirements for Textiles and Footwear

Argentina has rescinded through Resolution 1288/2019 its non-preferential origin documentary requirements for goods whose origin must be determined for statistical reasons, including the certificate of origin requirements for textiles, apparel and footwear of Chapters 51 through 64. Goods subject to the application of antidumping, countervailing or safeguard measures as well as goods from countries that do not benefit from most-favoured-nation status remain subject to non-preferential origin documentary requirements.

Argentinean authorities indicate that, in light of the substantial advances made in the international trade arena in recent years (including in the areas of logistics, storage and transportation), the rescission of the certificate of origin requirements for statistical purposes is justified in order to avoid unnecessary delays and higher costs.
