CPSC Recalls Various Products Made in Mainland China

The CPSC has announced a recall of the following products made in mainland China.

Glass Pitchers. Crate and Barrell has issued a recall for approximately 2,560 glass pitchers in the United States as well as about 11 glass pitchers in Canada. The recalled 84-ounce glass Miles pitcher has a wooden lid and measures about nine by five inches. It has a label on the bottom that reads in part SKU #444-560, Miles Pitcher Wood Lid, and Made in China. These products were sold at Crate and Barrel stores nationwide and on-line at www.crateandbarrel.com from December 2019 through February 2020.

Baby Walkers. Kids & Koalas has announced a recall of about 3,600 baby walkers because they fail to meet the federal safety standard for these products. This recall involves Kids & Koalas-branded foldable baby walkers. The baby walkers have eight wheels and a seat with adjustable height and were sold in grey, black, green, pink, blue and white. The Kids & Koalas logo is printed on the front of the tray and on the back of the seat. Model number X002 can be found on an attached hang tag underneath the product and on the packaging. These products were sold on-line at Amazon.com from September 2017 through July 2018.

Children’s Winter Boots. Lilly of New York is recalling approximately 3,200 children’s winter boots because the boot’s sole contains excessive lead levels. This recall involves Lilly of New York-branded children’s winter boots sold in children’s sizes 5 through 10 in the following colours and style numbers: Aqua (53325), black with glitter (53323), black with green (53317), and purple with black (53324). The lined boots have a Velcro closure and rubber soles. Lilly and the style number appear on the inside of the shoe’s tongue. These boots were sold exclusively at Zulily.com from November 2019 through January 2020.

Car Seat Adapters. Thule Group has recalled approximately 1,430 car seat adapters in the United States as well as about 116 car seat adapters in Canada because the plastic brackets on this product can break, posing a fall hazard to infants. This recall involves Thule Sleek car seat adapters used to place a Chicco car seat on the Thule Sleek stroller. The adapter is metal with two black plastic brackets and clips onto the stroller. Recalled products have product number 11000301 printed on a sticker located on the adapter’s plastic bracket, as well as UPC code 091021188099. These products were sold at REI, Buy Buy Baby and other stores nationwide, as well as on-line at Thule.com and Amazon.com, from December 2018 through February 2020.

Vaporisers. Hawthorne Hydroponics has recalled some 60,000 vaporisers in the United States as well as about 340 vaporisers in Canada because they can overheat and the vaporised materials can pose a burn risk if spilled or cause a fire if they fall onto a combustible surface. The Deluxe model vaporiser also poses an electrical shock hazard if a consumer touches a small copper piece at the base of the vaporiser while in use. This recall involves the Deluxe and Commercial models of the Grower’s Edge vaporiser for use in hydroponic growing. The Deluxe vaporiser has a yellow aluminium body and an adjustable vaporising cup, while the Commercial model has a stainless steel plate and an adjustable vaporising cup. Recalled model numbers are 704050 (UPC 870883005795) and 740650 (UPC 870883000608). These products were sold by Hawthorne Hydroponics dealers nationwide, including hydroponic and indoor specialty gardening stores, as well as on-line from August 2011 through January 2020.

Children’s Tool Kits. Grizzly Industrial Inc. has announced a recall of about 20,645 children’s tool kits in the United States as well as about 100 children’s tool kits in Canada because the tool belt, hammer and suspenders (model H3044) contain excessive lead levels. The recalled children’s tool kits have two different model numbers: H3044 and H5855. Model H3044 is a 12-piece tool kit that contains a helmet, goggles, tape measure, tool belt, hammer, pair of leather gloves, ruler, carpenter’s square, level, bottle of chalk and suspenders. Model H5855 is an 11-piece tool kit that contains goggles, tape measure, wooden tool caddy, hammer, ruler, carpenter’s square, level, screwdriver, pliers and an adjustable wrench. Model numbers are printed on the front upper right hand corner of the packaging and “Grizzly Industrial” is printed on multiple items of the tool kits. These products were sold at Grizzly Industrial’s showrooms nationwide and on-line at www.grizzly.com and www.Amazon.com from September 2002 through November 2019.
