Canada Begins Sunset Review of AD/CV Duty Orders on Thermoelectric Containers

Canadian authorities have begun an expiry (i.e., sunset) review of the antidumping and countervailing duty orders on certain mainland Chinese thermoelectric containers that provide cooling and/or warming with the use of a passive heat sink and a thermoelectric module, excluding liquid dispensers, classified under HTSCA 8418.61.0000, 8418.50.1000, 8418.50.2900, 8418.69.9090, 8418.99.9090, 8418.29.0000 and 8418.69.9080.

The Canada Border Services Agency will accept questionnaire responses and other information from interested parties through 7 December 2018 and will issue its determination by 29 March 2019. In the event of a positive determination, the Canadian International Trade Tribunal will determine by 5 September 2019 whether the continued or resumed dumping or subsidising is likely to result in injury or retardation. The CITT will hold a public hearing in connection with this review on 24 June 2019.
