Mexico and Hong Kong Working on Mutual Recognition of AEO Programmes

The customs authorities of Hong Kong and Mexico recently signed an action plan to develop a mutual recognition agreement covering their respective authorised economic operator programmes. The action plan will include an analysis of the AEO programmes of Hong Kong and Mexico, joint validation visits to companies, an evaluation of results, and collaboration with the trade community aimed at reaching a mutual recognition agreement. According to Mexican authorities, this initiative forms part of an on-going commitment by Mexico to strengthen supply chain security and international relations and facilitate trade.
