Acronym in full: The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries

The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) was founded in 1960 by five countries, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Venezuela. Currently it has a total of 13 member countries, including Algeria, Angola, Ecuador, Libya, Nigeria, Qatar, UAE and Gabon.
