HKTDC Entrepreneur Day

WHAT: In its ninth edition, Entrepreneur Day helps new businesses and supports newly established companies with key business information, including banking and financial advice, legal services and IT support.

WHEN: 19-20 May 2017

WHO: Franchise operators, financial institutions, legal services providers and NGOs are some of the groups that will exhibit under the following zones: The Imaginarium, showcasing innovative technology; The Boosters, offering support services for start-ups; Creatopia, a cross-matching zone; Go-getters Zone, showcasing start-up opportunities; and The Cosmopolitan, featuring start-ups from overseas and the Chinese mainland.

Last year, more than 270 companies and organisations exhibited their services and products at the event, which attracted more than 17,000 visitors.

WHY: Several new events this year will include the Pioneer Meetup, a sharing session event for youths and potential start-ups to learn from successful youth leaders and entrepreneurs; the Start-up Mixer; and the Startup Weekend Hong Kong Bootcamp, where participants can experience in just a few hours, the highs and lows of life at a start-up.

Other events include: The “Fund and Mentor” Business-matching, a matchmaking session between project owners and potential investors/mentors.

Pitchathon will feature pitching sessions for start-ups to present their business plans and seek professional advice

Startup Runway is a two-day forum comprising a plenary session, thematic talks, sharing and pitching sessions.
