HKTDC Hong Kong International Wine & Spirits Fair video

WHAT: Marking its 10th year of showcasing a wide range of high-quality wine and spirits, beer and other alcoholic beverages, the Hong Kong International Wine & Spirits Fair serves as a gateway for winemakers and distributors looking to enter the industry’s fast-expanding Asian market.

WHEN: 9-11 November 2017

WHO: A record 1,070 exhibitors from 38 countries and regions are expected to take part in this year’s event. About 20,000 visitors took part in last year’s fair.

The ground-breaking Asia Wine Academy provides opportunities to take intensive courses on wine at the HKTDC Hong Kong International Wine & Spirits Fair 2017, in conjunction with The Hong Kong Polytechnic University’s School of Hotel & Tourism Management. With Masters of Wine Jeannie Cho Lee and Steve Charters, the courses feature trends and tastings 9-11 November, bringing a University level education to Asia’s major wine trade and consumer event

WHY: For the first time, the Syndicat Général des Vignerons de la Champagne, France (SGV) will set up a pavilion at the fair to showcase Champagnes produced by small and medium-sized vineyards, with Champagne-tasting included. To mark the fair’s 10th anniversary, the HKTDC and the Hong Kong Polytechnic University School of Hotel and Tourism Management will co-organise the Asia Wine Academy.

Winners of this year’s Cathay Pacific Hong Kong International Wine and Spirit Competition Award will be announced on the first day of the fair.
The fair will open to the public on the last day (11 November) with several events scheduled, including a master class seminar led by Sarah Heller, Hong Kong’s newest Master of Wine, as well as the Hong Kong Wine Competition.

WHERE: Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, Hong Kong

HOW: The registration form is available to download.

And You Can Quote Me: “I am visiting the Hong Kong fair for the first time and have already found eight potential suppliers so far. Among them are three Argentinian exhibitors for Malbec red wines that are getting increasing interest among customers in Australia. I’ve also got in touch with three Spanish exhibitors and two Italian suppliers for a variety of red and white wines. This is a great show. It has been a rewarding journey and I really enjoyed it. I will definitely come again next year.” (Andy Lloyd, Buyer, Vinomofo, Australia, talking about last year’s fair.)
