BANGLADESH: Approved Businesses to be Exempt from Customs Checks

All goods imported/exported by companies that have been approved by the country’s new Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) scheme will be exempt from statutory customs checks. In order to secure this status, though, companies must have a minimum of three years of compliance with existing customs requirements, as well as an average import/export trade value of US$590,578 per annum over the same period.

The AEO scheme is to be introduced on a trial basis next month.
