BANGLADESH: Readymade Garment Workers Get First Pay Rise Since 2013

The monthly minimum wage for workers in the country’s export-oriented readymade garment (RMG) sector is set to increase from US$63 to US$95, the first pay rise since 2013. Although some workers’ unions have rejected the rise as too low, it is expected to be implemented as of December.
