BANGLADESH: Single Window Online Customs Clearance Service Set for Final Approval

Import and export procedures in Bangladesh are set to be streamlined following the looming introduction of a one-stop online trade portal. Billed as the National Single Window, the new system will allow traders to submit import / export documents and pay customs duties / taxes at one access point, freeing them of the necessity to make multiple submissions to a variety of government agencies.

The introduction of this online facility forms part of a wider bid to expedite cargo clearance, boost revenue, minimise red tape and reduce corruption in Bangladesh. At present, the introduction of the system is waiting on final government approval.
