BRUNEI: Container Charges Cut by 36% in Bid to Boost Muara Port Throughflow
A 36% reduction is now in effect on a number of government fees related to laden containers entering the country’s Muara port. Under the revised schedule of charges, stevedoring, lift on/lift-off and wharfage fees will all be reduced by just over a third. In addition, the period that containers can be stored without incurring costs has been increased from 48 to 120 hours.
The revised fee schedule has been implemented in a bid to boost the flow of goods through the Brunei port and container terminal, while also making the country a more attractive proposition for overseas investment.
