CAMBODIA: Online Registration Launched to Counter Corrupt Trademark Payments

Companies and individuals are now able to register trademarks online. The move has been made in a bid to reduce corruption, with applicants no longer obliged to directly engage with government officials, a number of whom have been known to request unauthorised payments prior to processing such applications.

All payments related to such registrations can also be made online via the designated internet banking gateway. As an alternative, applicants still have the option of using the traditional paper-based system.
