CAMBODIA: Phase Two of National Roll-Out of Online Certificate of Origin System Implemented

Following a three-month trial in the Thai-bordering provinces of Battambang and Pailin, Cambodia is to extend the use of the online Certificate of Origin (CO) system to two other provinces – Banteay Meanchey and Oddar Meanchey. The online system allows local businesses to apply for and print a CO via the official website of their local commerce department.

The next phase of the roll-out will see the system introduced in the country’s Vietnam-bordering provinces, including Svay Rieng, Prey Veng, Tboung Khmum and Takeo. Although no date has been announced for this further extension, the government has pledged to implement the system on a nationwide basis before the end of 2018.
