Cambodia Extends Deadline for Compulsory Online Registration of All Businesses

Cambodia’s Commerce Ministry has extended the deadline for companies to complete their obligatory online registration. The new cut-off date is 30 June 2016[1] , a three month extension to the original 21 March deadline. All companies that fail to register by the revised date will be subject to penalties, according to the country’s Ministry of Commerce.

The deadline has been postponed as the majority of business operating in the country failed to meet the initial date. It is now a legal requirement that all commercial entities operating in Cambodia (including companies, sub-branches, representative offices, subsidiary companies and agents) have to register on the government’s official online portal. This is in order to ensure that all such entities can avail themselves of their full legal rights, while also being unable to dodge any of their commercial obligations.
