INDIA: 250,000 Dormant Businesses to be Purged from Register of Companies

Some 250,000 businesses across India face being struck off the Register of Companies on the grounds of inactivity. The purge will apply to any company that has either failed to commence business operations within a year of being incorporated or has undertaken no commercial activities over the last two years.

Any company facing such action has 30 days from being served notice to appeal and to show justifiable cause as to why they should not be duly dissolved.
