INDIA: Comprehensive Details of Food Regulations Consolidated Online

All of the regulations relating to the country’s food sector have now been consolidated into one state-run website – the Food Regulatory Portal. Overseen by the Food Safety and Standards Authority, the site is divided into six key sections – food standards; enforcement; procedures for importing food; food testing; food safety protocols; and capacity building/competition.

The move forms part of the government’s One Nation, One Food Law policy, a strategy intended to promote transparency and consistency across India’s food regulatory system, thereby helping improve ease of entry into India’s food sector.
