INDIA: Tax Exemptions Out, Job Creation Rewards In, as SEZ Incentive Review Takes Shape

The looming overhaul of the country’s Special Economic Zone (SEZ) incentive schemes is expected to see many of the currently-available tax exemptions dropped in favour of measures designed to reward those companies that generate new jobs. In another move, it is also believed that the government review will announce an end date for a number of the existing incentive schemes, many of which are currently of no fixed duration.

Full details of the review are expected to be announced in August this year.
