INDONESIA: Deadline for Tax Returns Extended to 21 April
The 31 March deadline for filing of income tax returns has been extended to 21 April for individual tax payers. However, no additional time will be given with regard to payments, with any overdue taxes or fees payable before the expiry of the original deadline.
With only 7.2 million out of 23.2 million registered taxpayers in Indonesia having filed their returns as of 28 March, the extension to the deadline was necessary to ensure greater participation. It has also been extended to prevent it from clashing with the final week of the country’s tax amnesty, allowing individuals to participate in both initiatives.
