LAOS: Investors Set to Lose Land Concession Licences on Stalled Projects

Investors who fail to initiate agreed development programmes are set to have their land concession licences rescinded as part of a government crackdown on overly-delayed projects. Land concession holders are also liable to be fined or have their licences revoked if their projects are deemed to be in any way illegal or if any subsequent development is seen as contrary to the original agreement.

The move follows the release of an official report, which indicated no progress has been made on 201 concession-related projects (representing a total undeveloped land area of 81,879 hectares).
