LAOS: Licences Now Mandatory for Import / Export of Ozone-Depleting Substances

All businesses involved in the export / import of Ozone-Depleting Substances (ODS) or products containing ODS must now secure a licence prior to trading, transporting or distributing such items in Laos. The required licences will be available upon application to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment or to the Customs Department of the Ministry of Finance.

The move is said to be in line with Laos’ obligations under the terms of the Vienna Convention for the Protection of the Ozone Layer and the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer.
