LAOS: Online Tax Return System Makes Limited Debut

Businesses and individuals in certain designated provinces and districts are now able to file their tax returns via the Ministry of Finance’s recently-launched online platform – the Tax Revenue Information System (TaxRIS). New tax registrants will also be able to obtain their unique Tax Identification Number (TIN) by utilising the system.

The service will initially be available to tax payers in Vientiane, the national capital, as well as in the provinces of Vientiane, Luang Prabang, Savannakhet and Champasak. The system is expected to be extended to Bolikhamxay and Khammouane in early 2019, with its national rollout completed by the end of that year.
