MYANMAR: 267 Additional Commodities Now Free of Import Licence Requirements

A detailed list of a further 267 commodities that will no longer require import licences (as of 1 September) has been released.  The list includes cotton; sanitary ware; food manufacturing machinery, offset printing equipment, ink-jet printers and robotic technology.

In August 2015, licence requirements were withdrawn for all imported products with the exception of 4,405 designated items. This new list represents a further cut to that proscribed list.

For the full list (partly in Burmese) of the newly deregulated products see the official notification on the Ministry of Commerce’s website.
