MYANMAR: FDI Proposals of US$5 Million or Less Now Only Require Regional Approval

Proposals for investment projects valued at less than US$5 million will no longer be accepted by the Myanmar Investment Commission (MIC). Instead, they should now be submitted to one of the MIC’s 15 regional / state branches. While these regional and state authorities may also consider higher valued investment proposals, any such project will additionally require approval from the MIC.
