MYANMAR: GSP Benefits Only Open to State-Registered Exporters

Companies looking to export goods to the European Union, Switzerland, Norway or Turkey under the Generalised System of Preferences (GSP) programme must be listed on the Ministry of Commerce’s Registered Exporter System in order to qualify for the preferential tariffs on offer. Eligible businesses must also be registered with the Directorate of Investment and Company Administration, with the scheme not open to any principals with a criminal record. Applicants must also be able to demonstrate that their exports comply with the relevant rules of origin.
