SINGAPORE: Country First Outside Europe to Adopt PEPPOL E-invoicing System

The country has become the first outside Europe to sign up to the Pan-European Public Procurement On-Line (PEPPOL) system, which will see a new national electronic-invoicing (e-invoicing) standard adopted as of next month. Overseen by the Info-communications Media Development Authority (IMDA), the Singaporean governmental body tasked with implementing the country’s overall digital transformation, the new platform will allow companies to seamlessly interact with each other, while also minimising errors, expediting international transactions and reducing operational costs.
