SINGAPORE: Single Digital ID to be Introduced for Corporate Interaction with Government Bodies

A new single digital identity for businesses and other official entities - the Singapore Corporate Access or CorpPass – is to be introduced as of 15 September. This is to be used in online transactions with all government bodies and replaces the current practice of multiple IDs being required for different purposes and departments.

The introduction of the CorpPass is to be on a staged basis, with full implementation scheduled to be completed by December 2017. In the initial tranche, the new digital ID will facilitate online interactions with the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore, the Ministry of Trade and Industry, the National Environment Agency and Singapore Customs.
