THAILAND: Imports Found to Have Dodged ADD Duties to Face Punitive Tariffs

Goods found to have been imported in contravention of existing Anti-Dumping Duty (ADD) and Countervailing Duty (CVD) legislation will be subject to punitive tariffs set to be introduced before the end of 2017.

The proposed measures follow complaints from domestic manufacturers that foreign exporters have bypassed existing anti-dumping rules by routing goods through countries that enjoy lower tariffs or by exporting parts with lower duty rates separately prior to assembling finished items in Thailand.
