THAILAND: Online Piracy and IPR Violations Targetted by New Government Department

The online infringement of intellectual property rights (IPR) in Thailand will result in prompt legal action under legislation currently in process by the country’s newly-established Ministry of Digital Economy and Society.

The new legislation, designed to curb both online piracy and the sale of counterfeit goods via the internet, is expected to come into effect in early 2017.
