THAILAND: Tariff Cuts across 524 Electronic Goods Categories Set to be Phased in by 2019

Tariff cuts have now been introduced across 524 categories of electronic goods, including video games consoles, touch screens and GPS navigation equipment.[1]  The move is in line with the extended remit of the World Trade Organisation’s (WTO) Information Technology Agreement (ITA), with the other 54 member countries committed to introducing similar reductions.

The tariff cuts are being phased in with immediate effect, with full implementation expected by July 2019. Among the other categories affected by the change are the new generation of multi component integrated circuits (MCOs), portable interactive electronic educational devices and a range of medical equipment, including magnetic resonance imaging products and ultra-sonic scanning apparatus.
