VIETNAM: Fees for Port Facilities in Haiphong Cut by 20%

As of 1 January 2018, the fees for using facilities in the northern port city of Haiphong will be cut by 20%. The move by Haiphong’s municipal government to revise the port fees on port infrastructure, services and utilities follows protests by businesses over fee hikes implemented at the beginning of 2017.

The 2017 increases, which were by as high as 70% for certain services, prompted the Vietnamese Prime Minister to intervene for a resolution of the fee dispute.
