VIETNAM: Minimum Equity Requirement Raised to 20% for PPP Investors

The minimum equity requirement for private investors in public-private partnership (PPP) projects requiring investment capital of up to VND 1,500 billion (US$66 million) is to increase from its present level of 15% to 20%. In the case of any PPP project requiring investment capital above this threshold, the minimum equity requirement will remain at 20% for the initial VND 1,500 billion, while falling to 10% for all additional funding. Enacted as Decree No. 63/2018/ND-CP, these new requirements will come into effect as of 19 June this year.
