VIETNAM: One-Stop Government Services Access Portal Goes Live

The National Public Service Portal, a countrywide one-stop online government access point, has now gone live. Designed for use by both individuals and businesses, it provides access to a wide range of government services from many different ministries and agencies, all of which were only previously available on either an in-person application basis or through the individual websites of various state departments.

Among the facilities on offer is a comprehensive database of national administrative procedures, information on their application and scope, online support and a payment gateway for any related fees. Users will also be able to track the progress of any previously submitted applications.

The accessible services include business and individual electricity connections; payment of electricity bills, the reissue of employee health insurance cards and the provision of domestic / international driving licences. In addition, businesses will also be able to secure certificates of origin for goods; make electronic tax payments and register for promotional activities.

A further 15 services are expected to be available in the first quarter of 2020. These are said to include a wider range of tax and customs-related facilities, a business registration option and a number of health and labour-focussed procedures.
