VIETNAM: Three Month Trial Begins on One-Stop Online Tax System

A one-stop Electronic Tax (eTax) system is currently undergoing a three-month pilot programme in two of the country’s northern provinces – Bac Ninh and Phu Tho. The online service, launched under the auspices of the General Department of Taxation (GDT), allows businesses to process all of their tax affairs through one registered account, rather than having to manage several accounts, each relating to a different service, as is the current practice.

Following the completion of the trial period on 10 March 2018, the overall viability of the system will then be assessed. As yet, there is no indication as to when the service might be rolled out on a permanent basis across Vietnam.
