VIETNAM: Wind Power Tariff Rise Designed to Boost Renewable Energy Investments

As of 1 November, the wind power feed-in-tariff rates in Vietnam will increase from US$0.078 per kWh to US$0.085 per kWh for onshore turbines and US$0.098 per kWh for offshore turbines. It is hoped the increased tariff level will boost investment in the country’s renewable energy sector.

At present, the country has only 200 megawatts (MW) of installed wind power generation capacity, though projects expected to provide an additional 100 MW are already underway.
