Vietnam Hikes ADD on Rolled Steel from China and Indonesia

VIETNAM: Anti-Dumping Duty (ADD) on rolled stainless steel imports from China has been increased to 25.3%. At the same time, the duty on similar imports from Indonesia has risen to 13.03%. The previous levels were 4.64-6.87% (China) and 3.07% (Indonesia).

As part of the review, undertaken by the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) on 29 April,[1] duty on stainless steel imports from Malaysia has been reduced to 9.55% (previously 10.71%), while ADD on the same category of imports from Taiwan has remained at the same level of 13.79%. Punitive ADD has also been maintained on a number of companies seen as persistent transgressors, most notably Taiwan’s Long Stainless Steel Corp, which has seen its 37.29%[2] levy extended.

These revised duties will come into effect on May 14, with the next review scheduled for October 2019.
