Certification Mandatory for Production and Import of Pesticides

Companies wishing to produce pesticides in China or export them to China will be required to be in possession of a Pesticide Registration Certificate. In order to qualify for such a certificate, companies will be obliged to be tested and assessed by the relevant agricultural body, as approved by the State Council.

The requirement was announced by the State Council in its recently-issued Regulations on Pesticide Administration. The formal requirement for certification becomes effective as of 1 June 2017.
