China Abolishes Imported Timber Quantity Inspection Requirement

Imported timber is no longer liable to quantity checks by the relevant inspection and quarantine bodies. The move, which came into effect as of 30 October this year, was announced by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ) and is seen as part of a bid to streamline overall customs clearance procedures.
