China Announces Revised Licensing Requirements for Special Equipment Businesses

The State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) recently issued the Licensing Rules for Entities Engaged in Production and Filling of Special Equipment (TSG 07-2019), which is intended to regulate the licensing requirements of businesses engaged in the manufacture of the following items:

  • Boilers
  • Pressure vessels and the filling of transportable pressure vessels
  • Gas cylinders (and their filling)
  • Pressure pipelines
  • Safety accessories
  • Elevators
  • Hoisting machinery
  • Passenger ropeways
  • Large amusement facilities
  • Motor vehicles for special use on worksites (factories)

These new regulations came into effect as of 1 June.
