China Business Registration Time to be Cut From 20 Days to 8.5 by Mid-2019

The processing time for the registration of a new mainland business is to be cut from 20 working days to just 8.5 on average by the end of Q2 2019. This move to streamline the application and approval procedures was outlined in Opinions on Further Shortening Enterprise Establishment Time, a circular recently issued by the General Office of the State Council.

The circular also detailed three of the facilitative measures intended to deliver this abbreviated processing time:

  • With the introduction of one-window processing and parallel-handling, applicants will only need to submit the required documents once, with all relevant details then shared between the government departments concerned
  • Applicants will be able to initiate all the required business registration procedures online, with the whole process completable digitally
  • The submission procedure for a company seal will be integrated into the application requirements of the new all-in-one business licence
