China Expands Random Sampling Inspection Scheme

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has announced that the following five matters are now subject to random sampling inspection:

  • Applications to enter the automobile / automotive products manufacturing sectors
  • Trials of prospective new telecoms businesses
  • The implementation of interconnectivity regulations by dominant telecoms enterprises
  • The allocation of IP addresses by approved organisations
  • The supervision / inspection of domain name registration administrations and domain name / service registrars (including the supervision / inspection of root name server operators and domain name registration administrations and the supervision / inspection of domain name service registrars)

Full details of all items subject to random sampling inspection, as well as all other items newly subject to administrative inspection, can be found in the List of Matters Subject to  Random Sampling Inspection by MIIT (2019 Edition) (Gong Xin Ting Zheng No. 64 [2019]), as published by the MIIT on 29 September and which supersedes all previous editions.
