China Grants Oversight of Toy Imports and Exports to General Administration of Customs

The General Administration of Customs (GAC) has been granted oversight of the inspection and supervision of China’s imported and exported toys. The move is in line with the recent third revision to the Administrative Measures for the Inspection and Supervision of Imported and Exported Toys.

In accordance with the Law of the People’s Republic of China on Import and Export Commodity Inspection and other regulations deemed relevant, the GAC and its designated representatives will now assume responsibility for the inspection and supervision of all imported and exported toys listed in the Catalogue of Import and Export Commodities Subject to Inspection. Toy exports / imports not listed in the Catalogue, meanwhile, will remain subject to spot-checks in accordance with the prevailing GAC regulations.
