China Introduces Compulsory CCC Certification for Electrical Bikes

The administration of electrical bicycle (e-bike) products has been transferred from production licensing to CCC certification according to a joint announcement from the State Administration for Market Regulation and the Certification and Accreditation Administration.

Following the announcement, the transition procedures detailed below will apply:

August 2018-14 April 2019

Production licensing and CCC certification will jointly apply during this initial period.

15 April 2019 and Subsequently

No electrical bicycle products can leave their place of manufacture, be sold, imported or used in any business activity unless they have been CCC-certified.
